Mary Msemwa is a driven professional with a wealth of experience in business development, sales, and project management. Currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Mary is a recipient of the Forte Fellowship. She is currently the Co-President of the newly formed Africa Business Club, The Executive Vice President of CWIB and the Vice President for International Students of the Energy Club. She is also an active member of several clubs, including the Net Impact and the Tech Club.
Mary’s career includes over seven years with the U.S. Commercial Service in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, where she served as Senior Commercial Specialist, helped companies with market entry strategies. Mary was also a Team Lead for the Oil & Gas, Sub Saharan Africa Energy Team, and prior to that Team Lead for the Sub Saharan Africa ICT Team, educating member countries about government priorities and global initiatives.
Before joining the U.S. Commercial Service, Mary worked at Tigo Millicom (T) Ltd, where she served as Distribution Development Manager responsible for growing indirect distribution channels.
Mary holds a Master of International Management in Marketing from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business & Business Economics from Middlesex University, London, United Kingdom. She is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has received numerous awards, including the U.S. Mission Honor Award and the U.S. Department of Commerce Lead Boldly Award.
