Katherine Dydak is a graduate of the UNC Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Her Master’s thesis focused on arts-based economic development in the Washington D.C. metro area. Her work for the Kenan Institute focused on the use of discretionary economic development incentives in Eastern North Carolina. She analyzed how incentives are used, how much they cost, and some ways in which incentive-granting could be improved. She then helped disseminate these finding to economic development and planning professionals in the region.
