Demetrius Cox is a student at North Carolina Central University majoring in political science for undergrad. He plans to go to law school after graduation to help those less fortunate. Demetrius has learned the obstacles that men of color face in school as he struggled in school and from his mistakes was able to help others. He became a Student Success Coach at Wilson Community College, as a Student Success Coach, he developed strong communication and problem-solving skills. He has worked with minority male students who were struggling to succeed in school and found ways to help them overcome. Ensuring they had the support they needed for success by created programs and presentations to help the students see the long term benefits of time management and focus, which increased the grade point average of those students. This lead to him receiving the future generation award from NAACP in his community. Demetrius has a passion for serving people in the community and look to understand how to create solutions for those problems. He realizes that NCGrowth has the knowledge and tools that can help him develop the needed skills to make a difference in his community.
