Alex Coclanis is a first-year MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler concentrating on marketing and data analytics. Prior to business school, Alex spent five years at Kenan Foundation Asia, a non-profit organization in Bangkok, Thailand focused on economic and social development in Southeast Asia. There, Alex started as a project development consultant, helping secure funding from international governments and institutions, such as USAID, US Department of State, and ASEAN. He later moved into a marketing and communications role to carry out the organization’s strategy to raise awareness for its work with the public as well as to attract funding and build new partnerships with the private sector.
Alex earned a BA in English Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013 and spent a year coaching high school football and consulting for a data analytics firm called Pro Football Focus before moving to Thailand. In his free time, Alex enjoys reading novels, watching sports, and playing tennis.
